Maurenice Bisono is currently the principal and owner of Maurenice Bisono-Villa Bisono, a Design studio. In the past she was owner, co-founder and designer for Vagin Pouvoir, a distinctively sexy and sophisticated lingerie collection that has graced the pages of Harpers Bazaar, WWD, W Magazine and many other international magazines. She has experience at luxury evening wear and ready-to-wear houses including Carlos Marquez, Christina Perrin, Jill Stuart and Anne Klein in the design and production arenas.
Born into a family devoted to fashion and interiors, making beautiful clothing and spaces is Maurenice’s focus and drive. Under the watchful eye of her mother, Maurenice learned to sew at the age of five and by age seven, Maurenice was making her own clothes and tending daily to her mother’s women’s fashion store. When she moved to New York from the Dominican Republic she instantly fell in love with architecture and the fine arts. Today, she continues to draw inspiration for her designs from these early influences.
Maurenice attended New York City’s acclaimed High School of Fashion Industries and Syracuse University’s School of Visual Arts and Performing Arts and majored in Fashion Design. During her four years at Syracuse University, Maurenice studied in Florence where she focused on international business and architecture. Maurenice currently resides in New York City.
