A designer inspired by her Dominican-American heritage and the vibrant art and design cultures of London and New York City, Maurenice is the visionary behind Maurenice Bisono - Villa Bisono, a studio dedicated to crafting sophisticated, timeless creations that blend fashion, footwear, lingerie, and interior design. Previously, she co-founded Vagin Pouvoir, an audacious lingerie line praised by Harper’s Bazaar, W Magazine, WWD, and other leading international publications. Her expertise in design and production was further honed through roles at luxury fashion houses including Carlos Marquez, Christina Perrin, Jill Stuart, and Anne Klein.

Born into a family steeped in fashion and interior design, Maurenice’s creative journey began early. Taught to sew at just five years old and designing her siblings clothes by seven, she spent her childhood mastering the art of crafting garments and home textiles. Her move from the Dominican Republic to New York City introduced her to the city’s iconic architecture and vibrant arts scene—enduring influences that still shape her aesthetic.

Maurenice holds a master’s degree in Footwear from the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London, where her time in the city further enriched her global perspective and sharpened her approach to luxury design. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Design from Syracuse University’s School of Visual and Performing Arts and graduated from New York’s esteemed High School of Fashion Industries. Today, she divides her time between London and New York City, drawing fresh inspiration from each city’s unique blend of culture, art, and design.
